The Right Battery Matters
Modern vehicles rely on stable, clean power to run everything from engine control systems to accessories. That’s why our team takes the time to test your existing battery properly, rule out charging faults, and match any replacement to the vehicle’s make, model and usage. For caravan and 4x4 setups, we also look at how you travel and what kind of gear you’re running to make sure the battery holds up under real-world conditions.
We’re here to help you make the right call, not upsell you something you don’t need. Get in touch to talk through your battery setup or book a test.

FAQ
Why does my battery die after short trips?
Short trips don’t give your alternator enough time to fully recharge the battery after starting the engine. Each engine start draws a significant amount of power, and if you’re only driving a few minutes, that charge isn’t being replenished. Over time, this puts strain on the battery and can reduce its overall life. Cold weather or infrequent use can make the problem worse. If your car is mostly used for short runs, it may be worth investing in a smart charger or battery maintenance routine.
Can you install a deep-cycle battery in a regular car?
Deep-cycle batteries are designed for sustained, low-output power delivery rather than the short, high-output bursts required to start an engine. While they can technically be installed in a regular car, they’re not ideal for engine cranking and may lead to slow starts or battery damage. Starting batteries (like AGM or EFB) are more appropriate for everyday vehicles. Deep-cycle batteries are better suited for auxiliary power setups in caravans, 4x4s, and boats. If you’re running high-draw accessories, a dual-battery system might be a better option.
What causes battery terminals to corrode?
Battery terminal corrosion is usually caused by a chemical reaction between the battery acid and the metal terminals. This often happens when a small amount of electrolyte (acid) leaks or vents from the battery, especially during charging. Overcharging, high heat, or a faulty alternator can speed up this process. Corrosion typically appears as a white, green, or bluish powder on the terminals and can interfere with the connection, leading to poor performance or starting issues. Regular cleaning and applying a terminal protectant can help prevent future buildup.
